Intelligent Fibre Optic Link System

PPM has two products in this range; the Sentinel IIsc with a bandwidth to >1GHz and the Sentry IIsc which offers similar performance at a lower operating frequency. Both of these products share a common platform called the System Controller, which is capable of housing & controlling up to 10 modules.

PPM's Intelligent Fibre Optic Link (FOL) Systems allow the user to transmit electrical signals out of an area of high electromagnetic field strength over optical fibre. For example, the output from a field sensor in an EMC test chamber may be transmitted to a spectrum analyser or oscilloscope. Because the information is sent over optical fibre, there is no breakthrough or signal impairment experienced with coaxial cable. Interference is not conducted into or out of the test area. The systems are effectively transparent to any type of electrical signal within their stated frequency ranges.
