Group3 Tesla Meters & Hall Probes

Digital Tesla Meters

Group3 offer three distinct families of tesla meters that are recognised worldwide as the highest performance magnetic field measuring instruments to use Hall effect sensors. Hall effect devices offer the smallest sensing area and are able to measure a wide range of field values, making them ideal for field mapping and magnet control as well as general measurements.

Features:-

  • Accuracy +/-0.01%, depending on meter/probe combination
  • Field Range +⁄- 3T Tesla max (calibrated to 2.2T)
  • Temperature compensated probes
  • Miniature and standard probe sizes
  • Different probe lengths, probe mounting methods, and probe mounting materials to order.

Analogue Hall Effect Probes

The new transducer is based around a Hall effect element, but clever electronic processing of the signal corrects for non-linearities and temperature effects, producing a very accurate analog voltage output directly proportional to the magnetic field present.  With an easy to use +/-10 or +/-5V output which can be processed by external ADC or other measurement system.

Features:-

  • Accuracy Better than 0.05%, up to 10kHz over specified field and temperature.
  • Field Range +⁄- 2.2 Tesla max (customisable from +/-0.2T).
  • Temperature 10 to 50 degrees C. Output +⁄- 10 volts max (customisable).
  • Bandwidth (small signal) 0 to >200 kHz (-3dB point) (full output) 0 to 35kHz sine wave (20V peak to peak).
  • Different probe lengths, probe mounting methods, and probe mounting materials to order.

These probes can be easily connected to one of the Group3 controllers (CNA or DNA) to produce an accurate closed loop control magnet system. Using the analogue probe as the feedback transducer for magnetic field control greatly increases stability and repeatability.
