PPM introduces DC-2MHz Multimode Optical Fibre Link

PPM Ltd has launched a new point2point DC-2MHz analogue fibre link that is compatible with an existing multimode fibre infrastructure. This provides an upgrade path from Dymec 1MHz links

Point2point DC links provides an effective and transparent way of monitoring or distributing signals with DC content to distances of over 500m. The fibre link is not affected by EM radiation and shielded packaging options are available. Electrical performance of the link is identical to the traditional single mode products that continue to provide world beating stability, noise floor, frequency response and reliability.

The UKAEA have specified the new multimode links for the Joint European Torus (JET) fusion facility, which UKAEA operates at its site at Culham, Oxfordshire, for experiments by scientists from all over Europe. Electrical isolation, low drift, high accuracy and performance over long distances make point2point modules an unrivalled solution.
